Life

I’m not sure where to even start. So many profound changes have happened to all of us, to the whole world, since the last time I tried to put thoughts into words written on this page. After months of isolation in a small apartment in New York City, which at that time was one of the epicenters of Covid 19, we tried to make a responsible decision and move my three daughters, me and our dog back to Denmark. 10 months after, and we’re still here. Doing our best to build a new life in the midst of our old pre-New York surroundings, while trying to decide if we should stay here or go back Brooklyn once things get better.

I’m trying to embrace not knowing what the future will bring and focus on what we have right now. A house where everybody has their own room, family and old friends close by and our little summer cottage just an hour’s drive from our house. My own little company which is slowly growing bigger and, most importantly these days, our health.

I still miss our old life in Brooklyn, the new friends we made and most of all, the energy of the city and the amazing women I connected with. But being here also brings so many good experiences and deciding what is best. Even as a mother of three and a small business owner hence someone who takes a million decisions every day, some decisions still seem absolutely impossible to make.

For the last two years, all my working hours have been put into my company Little Kin Studio. Building something from scratch and doing it all alone is hard work, but it’s also one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. I started out as small as you possibly can, and have grown organically and slow in the time it takes to expand my handmade production in South America, grow my customer base and figure out all the little parts of running a small business, that I know nothing about. It’s something I want to share more about if you want to read it.

For now, this is all. Just a small update about life. I’ll be back soon. I plan on using this platform as an extension of my little company. Show you some easy DIYs, talk about building something up from scratch. And about life in general.

See you soon,
